Waste Disposal

Hazardous waste disposal can be costly and risky.

AES protects clients from liabilities that arise from handling and disposal of both hazardous and non-hazardous waste. We ensure that your waste solution balances your objectives, operational demands and budget, while minimizing your environmental burden and ultimately protecting your company’s value. We are adept at disposing of hazardous waste governed by RCRA, TSCA, and CERCLA regulations for large, small and conditionally exempt hazardous waste generators, all who must certify that the waste went to a state or EPA authorized Treatment Storage and Disposal Facility (TSDF). To do so for Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generators is costly; we can pick up the waste, bring it to our Authorized Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generator facility to enable consolidation, cost effective characterization, and preparation of the waste from our transportation partners. We also can neutralize acids and bases for stabilization and solidification.

AES protects companies, their employees, and the environment.

We perform hazardous waste disposal for federal and local government institutions, industrial enterprises, municipalities, laboratories, hospitals, law enforcement, schools and universities, manufacturers and many other commercial and non-profit enterprises. Critical expertise is needed to apply relevant EPA Waste Codes and to determine the disposal requirements. The steps in the disposal process are:

  • Characterization: Accurately determining the physical and chemical characteristics of the wastes.
  • Segregation & Consolidation: Wastes are segregated or consolidated into groups according to their DOT hazard classes.
  • Packaging: For large quantities of wastes and for cost-effectiveness, we can consolidate similar wastes into larger drums to reduce the cost of transportation and disposal.
  • Labeling and Documentation: The containers must then be labeled according to DOT and EPA requirements.
  • Shipping: Once the chemicals are segregated and packed into appropriately sized containers they are inventoried and staged for pick up.
  • Profiling: Waste is profiled to one of our audited and EPA approved TSDF for acceptance into the facility.

AES is also adept at disposing of non-hazardous waste.

We also handle sludge and other discarded material, including solids, liquids, and semi-solids . As an example, we handle construction and demolition (C&D) debris generated during the construction, renovation, and demolition of buildings, roads, and bridges. We can also handle industrial waste, which can be a significant portion of solid waste, even in small cities and suburbs. Often, non-hazardous solids can be sent to facilities that mix waste with wastes from other generators and assume possession. When feasible, we can also treat characteristically hazardous waste into special waste onsite. This can significantly reduce the disposal and transportation costs for applicable waste streams.
